We're gathering stories from all 67 Pennsylvania counties about the problems we face in our communities. Please add your story.
The myriad problems our communities are facing are connected and systemic. They are not confined to a single issue, and not the result of the current political climate. We hope to bring together individuals and groups that have fought, and are fighting, for the best interests of their community, and are being denied just outcomes.

WHAT: We are gathering stories of from all 67 counties that document how Pennsylvania communities are being harmed by a structure of law that benefits exploitative corporate interests at the expense of community health, safety, and welfare. This is more about focusing on problems that are common to most grassroots social justice struggles: a system of law that denies us the ability to protect our communities; which legalizes corporate harm; and which places the protection of elite interests above community interests.
WHO: The PA Community Rights Network is a grassroots nonprofit that has grown out of rights-based struggles in
Pennsylvania, working to protect PA communities from harmful corporate activities. We support grassroots organizations
that are resisting these harmful corporate activities, and are also working toward constitutional change at the state level
that elevates the rights of our communities above the rights of corporations. We are initiating this event, but hope to have
many groups/co-sponsors.
HOW: Please let us know if you're interested and/or if you have any further questions by contacting us here.
WHY "ALARM": The Alarm was part of a series of publications leading up to the Declaration of Independence that
sounded the alarm on the oppressive activities of the British Empire and rallied colonists to resist further exploitation. We
see this event in a similar light – to illuminate widespread and systemic abuse forced on communities by the corporate
state, and to build a movement for constitutional change that liberates our communities.
